A dreamy Art Deco pendant featuring a luminous blue butterfly wing beneath a delicate white cameo fairy. Dating to the 1920s–1930s, this style of jewelry became especially popular during the Art Deco period, when genuine butterfly wings were transformed into vivid, jewel-like backgrounds for romantic and whimsical imagery.
The iridescent blue is created by the natural structure of the butterfly wing itself, giving the pendant remarkable depth and an almost glowing quality. At the center, a tiny three-dimensional cameo fairy appears against the blue wing, creating an enchanting little otherworldy scene. The contrast between the brilliant blue, pale cameo, and darkened silver setting makes this a particularly unusual example of vintage jewelry.
The pendant is marked 925 for sterling silver and comes on a delicate 20-inch sterling silver chain. A wonderfully romantic piece with a little bit of Art Deco glamour, a little bit of whimsy, and the unmistakable magic of a morpho butterfly wing.
